Tyree Dickey, MSW Intern

Hi, I’m Tyree Dickey, a Master of Social Work student at Southern Connecticut State University with several years of experience in social services and behavioral health. I have supported individuals and families navigating personal challenges, family concerns, housing instability, and major life transitions.

My background includes family support, case management, and working with children with special needs and their families. During a clinical internship at a residential recovery house, I supported adults experiencing mental health challenges and facilitated groups focused on coping skills, stress management, self-esteem, accountability, and personal growth.

My approach is centered on meeting people where they are and creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space. My clinical interests include working with adults and families experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, relationship difficulties, and major life transitions. I strive to provide compassionate, culturally responsive support while helping clients recognize their strengths and work toward goals that are meaningful to them.

I am interested in helping clients navigate ADHD, anxiety, depression, self-esteem concerns, family challenges, and major life transitions, while advocating for them when systemic barriers affect their well-being.

My approach is strengths-based and grounded in cultural humility. I believe clients are the experts on their lived experiences, and I center their individual needs and goals throughout the therapeutic process. I strive to be approachable, authentic, and nonjudgmental, creating a safe space where clients feel seen, heard, respected, and empowered to recognize their strengths.
